New Degree Program in Packaging & Design at the Stuttgart Media

Stuttgart Media University is responding to the evolving demands of the packaging industry by introducing a redesigned Bachelor's program, Technical Product Management – Technical Design, starting in the winter semester 2025/26. With this step, the university is phasing out its traditional packaging engineering degree to make way for a modern, interdisciplinary concept that unites technology, design, and management under one roof.

The seven-semester program in Baden-Württemberg concludes with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. “Our graduates are in high demand as specialists and leaders in manufacturing industries, the technology and innovation sector, as well as in technical development processes across a wide range of industries,” emphasizes Herrenbauer. Depending on their chosen specialization, they go on to take roles in technical product management, packaging management, or technical product development at brand manufacturers and retail companies. Employers include internationally operating corporations as well as medium-sized enterprises.
